Life Goes On

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 19, 2008, 10:49 AM
Well Hell Week is finally over and I can go back to a more normal existance :boogie:

...ok...actually no. I know I should be happy and relieved and stuff that I don't have to do that crap anymore - and believe me I am. But I guess that happy high is somewhat dampened by other stuff.

And that other stuff is keeping me from wanting to write or draw or anything. My well of ideas has run dry for the moment or the things that I had thought up I no longer feel like drawing. Someone, please, give me fresh material. I mean it. No one requests anything or asks questions and to be honest, that's not helping my downer. If my art sucks and that's why you don't request then just tell me sheesh.

=( I feel like crap...

Auf Wiedersehen.

I used to not like chinese and eastern dragons, but they've grown on me a little actually. Even if yeah, they still are pretty weird lol

I think I watch too many movies sometimes ^^;

Unusual in like a good way, a bad way or like a creepy, don't-want-to-run-into-me-in-a-dark-alley-at-night sort of way? I try not to bash it without legitimate cause, I mean, I only bash plot holes and stuff like that but I'll do that for just about any book that has a plot hole lol so HP's nothing special in that department. I can respect the work the author put into it, admit that it does have plenty of good parts in it. I mean, I would never say that I could do better because I'm not exactly at liberty to, having published nothing as of yet. Rowling has done something I haven't so she must've done something right lol. I have abandoned Half-Blood Prince for a while though. I'm reading Dragonlance: The Dark Disciple volume 3 "Amber and Blood" right now. Margaret Weis has got to be my all-time favorite author.

I'm picky with my horror movies too, it's got to have a good plot. I don't do the mindless violence bull. And a bunch of chicks going to explore a stupid cave is not enough of a plot to get me to watch it lol. I will say that the Eye scared me sh...err...well let's just say I was scared lol and I haven't been scared, or have to look away from a horror movie in a long time.

Too bad, I'd actually pay money to hear Arnold shout "I have the power"

I know, I wanted to see the Chinese fireball...one of those weird chinese dragon thingies.

I never saw that one.

 you are definitely an unusual sort of person. Well that's cool if you really don't like HP. Just do me a favor and don't bash it a lot. Kinda rude to do to a fan. ; )

I like some horror but I am a bit picky about it.I like time movies too if they're not TOO confusing. Time plots are very confusing to me! lol

I don;t think so.

I wanted one of the mini ones lol I was bummed we only got to see two. All well, there'll be more dragon movies eventually. I was really disappointed in the Dragonlance movie they made, the mixture of CG-style animation and regular flat animation really clashed.

I can totally immersed only after I've picked it apart. First time I read I rip it down, second time I build it back up. There are several books that allow me to do that. Potter's not one of them lol. I also tend to be a very....active reader lol. I will actually laugh out loud over what I'm reading, read funny lines aloud, I've even read a couple books that got me to cry. I get upset when bad things happen to a hero I actually like and clutch my stuffed animals (yes,I still have those lol) when the tension gets drawn out. Once I get into a book I also carry it with me everywhere. I mean everywhere! If I'm driving with someone I make them read it to me lol.

*gasp* I can't believe it! those were some good movies, although if you don't like horror...my mom's like that, she hates horror movies. It was a drag when I was an adolescent. I liked Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. Dunno why, just did. Seems like maybe Breakfast club is a girl movie? *shudders* Back to the Future was simply glorious. I like time movies, that's why I liked Run Lola Run so much.

Wow, I never knew that. Guess Arnold wasn't in it lol.

Haha fair enough. It looked cool, whatever you call it...and I want one of those mini ones they got. (Here's MY annoyance. the Swedish Short Snout's not supposed to be greeen, as the mini one was in the movie. I think it's blueish.)

True...I can see it being a boon in class, a bane elsewhere. I can;t do that. I get totally immersed in movies and book. Completely within the story. I'm there, right with them.

I have not seen Haunted hill nor Halloween. (Any of them.) Breakfast Club to me was really boring. My mom and a friend of hers, and her daughters all love it though lol. Dragonheart was okay. I liked Back to the Future too...yes, I liked all three of them. hehe And The 'burbs.

I like Garfield. You know, apparently they *did* make a live action of He'Man. I found that out just the other day.

Mmm, you could be right to a degree. Still I would perfer if it remained that a dragon was a dragon and a wyvern was a wyvern, makes it easier to picture in my head since I stick with specifics lol. My criticality (yay for making up words) probably does detract from my ability to enjoy a story, I have that nasty habit of picking every last little bit apart, seeing how it's made, and then eventually (by the time I'm ready to re-read or re-watch the book or movie) put it back together and simply enjoy. Gramatical or spellings errors in books bring me to a screeching halt for instance. Now being able to pick stories apart was a wonderful gift in English classes, but when it comes to trying to simply enjoy a book now or read for pleasure it's a bit of a headache lol.

There are plenty of older movies that are great. I personally like the original House on Haunted Hill as opposed to the newer version. The original Halloween movies were a horror masterpiece in my mind...well 1 through 3 anyway. And where would I be without the Breakfast Club? lol and I just loved Dragonheart to death (even if their dragons had eyes in the front of their head which drove me INSANE with irritation)

Garfield was my real comic book hero lol. Of course, being a cat and all ^_~ lol mindless action and shouts of "I have the power" I think that's all He-man ever was. Shoulda made a live action movie of it. Arnold would've been a shoo-in after his performance as Conan the Barbarian

I very much agree.

I agree with that, too

Well, as the creatures never existed, I suppose people really have free reign to make as many variations as they like. Whp's to say that a Hungarian Horntail dragon isn't called a Wyvyern in some other country? ; ) I couldn't stand to be that critical of movies or books. I'd never enjoy them otherwise.

Willow was awesome. I recently read the review that Siskel and Ebert did for that movie when it came out and it wasn't a very nice one. I was pissed. But yeah...I kinda miss the old ways. (Being a stuntman would be neat.)

I liked Spiderman comics when i was little, and the fun comics, like Archie and Madballs and the like. hmm. you know, I can't remember being able to discern a plot of He-Man either. I just liked the character and action hee hee.

That's ok, I wear my weirdness badge with pride lol. It's those "normal" people you have to look out for.

Yay for hyperactive adults lol

I'm extremely critical and picky about my fantasy books and movies. Don't call a wyvern a dragon and don't you dare give a dragon feathery wings if you expect it to fly. I try to make my mythological beasts seem logical or possible. I wrote an essay once about how dragons could be practical if their bones were hollow - thus why they had scales to protect said hollow skeletons. I thought they did Prisoner pretty well. I mean, 3 - 5 have a lot of nice special effects but I know what you mean - I can't stand a lot of CG. Especially not CG versions of the actors, the quidditch matches in the first movie drove my nuts because of the CG lol. I liked the old days when it was done with make up and puppetry and the occasional stunt man. But that's probably because I wanted to be a stunt man when i was a kid. Willow rocked my socks for the record.

I don't like the new ones really, but I read the old ones. I even have a collection of old Sonic the Hedgehog comics lol. My brother liked He-man but I wasn't too big on it, one of the few boy things I didn't like. But don't get me wrong, I didn't like She-ra either. Never understood the plot of either lol.

Well, hey...to each his own. lol So long as I didn't have to be exposed to the horrors...

Nah, not weird at all. Everyone views his intellectual property differently. (Well, you may well be weird, but not just because of that, hee hee)

Yeah I multitask a lot. It's ebcause I am hyper.

You're a critical sort, aren't you? ; ) I don't pay a huge amount of attention to if the special effects are really good, so long as the story's good. See, the special effects in Prisoner were awesome. But I hated how it was done and put together. And also I grew up on movies like Neverending Story and Willow and the like where it all had to be done with puppetry. but that was okay because the story was what counted.

I wasn't much for comics...and nowadays they're all dark and depressing. I liked Justice League okay. I guess He-Man is a super heroish thing, I liked that. ThunderCats. not like Superman though.

I guess it would depend on what people were writing or drawing. I mean, I wonder if Rowling would be flattered if she saw some of the stuff people write or post. I mean, the real sludge of the sludge pile lol. I guess I would interested if someone were to write like a sequal to one of my works, a continuation for where I left off, flattered that they liked it. I guess there's just a fine line between what's flattering fandom and what's insulting  I'm weird..

Yay for multitasking ^-^ I'm forever pushing myself to do like five things at once. Make dinner, talk on the phone, listen to music, read the news, and play fetch with the dog all at the same time ^-^

Now maybe if they had made the second one something like a B movie....*cough cough* not like they already did. I'm sorry, I was just unimpressed with their version of her basalisk as a whole. I was pleased when they did much better with the dragons (which wasn't a dragon - 2 legs = Wyvern!) in the 4th.

There's several shows that I do still like...I think lol. I mean, I'm sure i could go back and watch the old Zoids, Gargoyles, batman, xmen without getting annoyed. Hmm..I liked a lot of superhero, comicbook type shows when I was a kid lol. I worshipped DC and Marvel.

Well, JK Rowling says of fanfic that she's flattered that she inspires so much creativity. I must say I would feel the same way. I'd be extremely flattered if someone liked my work enough to want to write more of it.

I mostly listen to music while I do something else, too. Write or draw usually.

Er, thanks lol

Well B movies have their place. LOL But as you say, HP movie 6 is not one of them.

I know what you mean. I used to LOVE Voltron. Except for ThunderCats, it was my favorite when I was about 8. I watched it a few years ago and it annoyed the blazes out of me. lol I still liked TCats as much though. : )

I get into books a lot but I guess I feel like I'd be insulting the author if I turned around and like re-wrote the story. I suppose you're right though, to each his own. I can't very well stop people from doing it - the most I can do is refuse to contribute to the madness. Oh what society has come to these days lol

Oh but it is a necessity lol Must...draw....fanart...or...will...die :O_o: I never thought of listening to music as a hobby lol I listen to music while I work I don't think I could sit still long enough to just sit and listen I have the attention span of a five year old ^-^

May the Force be with you then lol

lol don't like B movies huh? I get a kick out of them but yeah, I guess the humor wouldn't be much appriciated in the very serious sixth movie. I'm not sure I'll like it very much because I probably won't find much to laugh at. 'Cept maybe ol' Sluggie

btw - I dug out Titan A.E. and watched it. It was the movie but it wasn't as good as I had idolized it in my youth lol. Not bad though, just didn't inspire me with awe anymore.

Me too.

Well, as I say, to each his own. Some people get into books a lot. I do. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Someone people love music to the exclusion of all else. or other stuff. I mean, why not let them be? They're not hurting you, aye? now once someone brings an argument or n insult right to you, all bets are off.

lol It's not a necessity. people do it because they enjoy it. it's not a necessity any more than painting a landscape or listening to music. It's a hobby. That's all.

Hey i have no qualms in using force. ; )

Well, just so they don;t look like rejects from a B horror movie I will be okay...

lol yeah I know that feeling. I need to get out more ^^; sweets and Taco Bell do me in.

I dunno, I guess I just think it's funny that people take it so serious. I mean, it's just a book lol. I'm sure I've forever tarnished your belief in my kindness lol.

I guess you're right but I still don't agree with the necessity behind fanfiction. Especially not OC fanfiction. I mean, I've created characters in my head for fandoms of mine, but I would never write it, and definately not share them with the world. When people do that it's mostly to *get* whatever character they wish was real. I mean now, don't get me wrong, if I saw Sephiroth walking down the street I'd jump him in a heartbeat, but since that is unlikely to happen, I think I'd rather retain my dignity and keep my thoughts in my head lol.

Oh yes, excuse me while I plead forgiveness from Dumblemort for insulting harry potter lol. Ooo, get a bit unforgiveable there though with the curses. Good luck trying to cast in when you're vomiting up slugs ^-^

It very well could be. I have been bitten by a few shady characters in my lifetime. Speaking of zombies though, I wonder how their gonna do the Inferi in the new movie.

Dance Dance Revolution ^-^

I love cotton candy lol I've got a sweet tooth that could rival that of any hyper active six year old

I got a couple of flaming notes. At least they didn't want to flame me publicly. Of course, to be honest, I would wear it like a badge of honor ^-^ See I'm really not a nice or kind person because I like stirring things up wherever I am. I would be ecstatic if I got shippers rialed up enough to flame the hell out of me. Their words don't hurt me, more like amuse me that they would take something that's not real so seriously. ^^; I have a hard time taking anything serious I guess lol.

Hmm, maybe I'm just too overprotective of my intellectual property, I don't want to let go lol. I mean, I guess light slash work wouldn't drive me nuts, but if I were to see ridicolous, impossible, definately NOT cannon and potentially graphic art or fics about my characters I think I would have a heart attack. To me it would be like a slap in the face, people saying "Oh well lookie here, she took all the time and effort to make character A who clearly loves B, but I like character C so I'm going to make them do XYZ with A." But maybe I'm just weird =/ I don't like fanfics period anymore. Most are horrible graphic slash fics. I wish people would create something original instead to put on the market so maybe we wouldn't have books like Harry Potter on the shelf =P lol.

Grrr you conspirators! I will not bow before your fandom!

lol, I failed. it's 5 and I was up all night again. I swear I'm part zombie/vampire....

Remind me what DDR is?

:snort: Who says cotton candy is a kids' thing? My mother is sixty and loved cotton candy. So do I for that matter.

Yeah I bet!

Hmm. Well you've been civil to me anyway. Though i didn't particularly see anyone flaming you for the, er, "rape" pic. (I still say it's so wrong! Talk about not seeing characters the same way again ROFL)

I wouldn;t mind if people slashed my characters if I was an author. The only thing I would forbid is underage sex. I don't think there's anything wrong with fanfic, either. Just like fan art, it takes just as much skill (maybe even more) to write a decent fanfic as it does to write a decent original story. (Key word: decent LOL)

Buahahha! I shall take partial credit.

Good luck!

Yeah, portable works good for me cuz I'm usually on the go. Wiis are fun though ^-^ I like games that are active, probably why I like DDR so much.

Yeah, last time I stood in line to get cotton candy I get some pretty strange looks from all the short kids lol. I can help I still like some kiddish stuff. It's that inner child I guess.

Oh yeah, I could never look at her or Snape the same after that lol.

Yay, I'm not unkind ^-^ Most people say I'm a (pardon my german) bitch. I try to be civil and polite and respectful at least. I don't fire the first shot, I merely reply to the insults I receive. Some shippers I can tolerate but some just go way too far with it. Makes me scared a little. If I ever make it as an author I think I'd die if I found slash fics and pics of my characters on DA lol.

I swear the world *is* consipring to make me a Potter-head. I'm watching the fourth movie again ^^; all well.

I'll try lol, it's been a long day so i'm actually pretty tired.

Portable does rock! LOL I like nintendos though. Someday I will afford a Wii. (I always have the insane urge to say (wheeee!) lol

Hmm, I couldn't say. Though there is the "mature" tag you can put on them. Well, I'm an adult and I like you. : ) I am assuming you're an adult.

:;shudder: Frightening indeed. :laughs: I can imagine....

Uh oh. I'll have to look out of sheer curiosity. LOL Well i am a very over sensitive person if someone is unkind. but otherwise I don't offend easily. you are not unkind...which I also appreciate! (And no, I can't stand romance...I couldn't possibly be a shipper lol) They can get nuts, those shippers, though.

Aww! Well get some tonight lol

It's funny that I game alot considering I've never owned my own playstation, xbox ect ect. All I had was a gameboy (and I'm talking the brick ones lol) I always had to borrow from my brothers and my computer is so cruddy that most computer games don't run very well on it. But I finally got a PSP which is amusing because like everything else I own it's portable lol.

Haha, it's cool. I kinda figured. I like to keep my gallery clean since most people who watch me are like thirteen. :O_o: why don't adults like me?

shh, don't give away my ideas ;) Maaaaaaaaybe. It was pretty funny though, for some reason I just kept seeing Snape singing about pretty women during the movie lol. I mean, there are times when he had a rather...creepy vibe about him. I won't go into details about what my roommate said about him though lol. Like I said, i keep things PG.

btw - I knew it. My latest upload got the shippers banging on my door lol. Thank you for not being an easily offended potter fan. And thanks for not being a shipper. You aren't a shipper right....? :hmm:

Wish I could've gotten sleep =( but it's not your fault.

I'm horrible with remembering actors' and acresses' names. I've gotten a bit better since I started paying attention but I forget a lot still.

Tiefling is something Wizard's of the Coast made up I think. It's a half demon. They're cool people, I have a tiefling character in Neverwinter Nights 2. I'm sure I just got labled as a nerd somewhere lol.

I don't do X rated stuff period. It's not my thing. Especially not if the the characters are kids! What kind of person do you think I am? :O_o: lol anyway I'll do my best ^-^

I like Burton's work. I like his books too lol. I got a hold of a little book of poetry he had published and loved it, wish I knew what it was called or where to find it. I don't like *all* of Depp's movies, just most. And it's not solely due to him. He works with a lot of other good actors and actresses. He worked with a lot of the Harry Potter cast in Sweeney Todd after all lol. Gave me quite a shock when I watched it. Never imagined Snape si - :plotting: I just had a horribly evil thought. So I'm not going to finish that sentence lol. :evillaugh:

Maybe.

Yeah, I'm passing out at my comp lol. It was good talking to you too :D

It seems it sometimes! lol Liam Neeson. I might have misspelled his name.

What on Earth is a tiefling? The others I know! lol

Guitar ensemble?? Interesting, I don't think our high school had one of those. :LOL I was in band, choir, and oprchestra...though I was only in orchestra for a year with the French horn.

LOL Sorry for the lethality of my request. Cody's a Slytherin and Calen's a gryffindor. That's cool, you can draw whichever you like, however you like. Just no X-rated stuff LOL Violence and the like is cool though if you've the urge.

You share my mom's taste in thigns a bit. She likes all the Depp movies, and cried at Scissorhands too. She also really like Tim Burton's stuff. I am very picky about it lol

:snort: Well maybe someday *she* will see the light.

And now it is time for bed LOL Nice talking to you! :D :D

Probably - you and you alone like Episode 1...what will you do next? lol. Nah, I got a friend who liked it. err...well I think she just liked the actor who played Obi Wan's master.

dragons are awesome =P I like writing about them and drawing them and reading about them. Sort of a little obsession I guess, but everybody has one or two. Gryphons are cool too, along with Hippogriffs, were-people, vampires, merfolk, tieflings and verious other creatures that regretably don't occupy our world.

lol I was never in marching band, but I was a member of my high school's guitar ensamble. My electric guitar is still burried somewhere though I haven't played it in ages I'm probably horrible now lol though i was never much good. I think my best accomplishment was transcribing the Fur Elise into guitar tablature.

Ok, I looked at them, not sure which I'll do yet. Action poses @_@ you trying to give me heart failure lol I suck at action poses, but I can give it a shot. What houses are they in?

I think I'm the only person who liked Edward Scissorhands ^^; it was a sad, touching story to me. Dunno why. Or maybe I'm just biased cuz I like a lot of Johnny Depp's movies. Pirates, Secret Window, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd ...to name a few lol. Suspense movies are good. I like a movie that keeps me guessing right up until the end. I liked Oceans Eleven because you didn't find out how they did it until the end - very good movie.

i think they're dumb too, mostly because I always seem to take crap for it lol. I'm a nonconformist, what can I say? yeah, well my mom's old and too stubborn to change her views lol she's still convinced that someday I'll see the light and become a happy little housewife. Psh. yeah right.

Well true LOL

Hehe I liked Episode one. I think I;m the only one in the world who did.

LOl Those ainmals are a bit less beautiful than hyenas. Dragons are okay.

Hehe I liked the WWW stuff when i was a kid...but the stuff in the 80s was a lot better. now it's just...boring. Mostly talk. A lot of flashy show. Bleh. Eh football's okay. I never played it though. I was in marching band; I played in the band instead.

No prob!

Aw, why not? joooin usssss.... Someday you'll stoop to our level ; ) Potterverse works fine. It's the HP universe ; ) Okay. Hmm, a choice then, either Cody or Calen. This is a pic of Cody DeDannan: [link] he's the one on the right. He's a bit short for his age, sturdy, with a mop of brown hair, bair eyes, and freackles. You can draw him anywhere from 7 to 13 years old. This one is Calen: [link] He's thirteen. Average height, somewhat slim build, waist-length hair. Pose is up to you. An action shot would be coo. But if not, then whatever you want!

Edward Scissorhands kind of bored me...I never liked that one much. my mom liked it though. I do lke comedy, action and adventure...not drama and defintiely not romance. Bleh.

That's too bad. I think that gender roles are just...stupid. Males and females aren't that different, really. We're all human. : P It's society that's convinced itself that men and women have to be so vastly different. It's more nurture than nature that gives them this vast gulf of different.
